Overwhelmed.

Work, School, house cleaning, bill paying, grass cutting, life can get busy. Especially when you have a family life, work life, and maybe church family to take care of. It is very easy to get overwhelmed by long list, urgent demand and due dates but it is important for us to slow down and breathe.

Matthew 19:26- "But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Have you ever thought that maybe the problem is not a long list of things to do, but it’s small situations that make everything else hard. A loved one is sick, a son or daughter is lost in the world or maybe your marriage and relationships are falling apart. You let other burdens effect your everyday operations. God is asking you to trust Him and He will fix things, everything is possible through God.

Psalm 55:22 "Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved."

I can tell you from personal experience that it is easy to carry other peoples burdens. When you have a passion to see a generation come to God you open yourself up to help young people. That means you will hear a lot of disturbing and heart changing things which are easy to carry on your shoulders. However, if I were to carry everyone’s burdens I couldn’t operate as a minister, worship leader, son, or encourager. I would be so beat down and overwhelmed by baggage that I could not even think straight.

Can you relate? I believe this is why many people in church feel like they have to put a mask on. They feel like they can’t be their self. Listen, Church is a hospital not a country club. Come in and be transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. Get in the altar and cast your burdens upon the Lord. I promise it will make life a lot easier.

Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
